M1 Garand

The M1 Garand (pronounced, guh-RAND) is the most famous rifle in the world and perhaps the most reliable rifle during the 20th Century. It was a G.I manufactured rifle and was adopted into the U.S. Military by George S. Patton in 1942. It is a light durable and movable rife weighing nine lbs. and about forty-four in. long. It is a very effective rifle at long and close range with a muzzle velocity of 2750 fps. with maximum range of 3450 yds. taking an eight round magazine. The rifle was used by the U.S. Military in combat until the early 1970's.

The M1 rifle was replaced by the also infamous M14 in 1957, which was later booted out by the Armalite-15 also known as the M16A2 assault rifle. It's contemporarys (rifles) were the Browning Automatic Rifle, the M1903 Springfield, and the M1941 Enfield (American Manufactured). The M1 Garand is the most influential rifle in the history of the U.S. Military.
